Just some random pics of some random things that I’ve been up to this week. Because of the weather I have been working from home a lot, so of course I set my work laptop next to my pc. Don’t tell my boss. :P I obviously am working so I can’t do any questing or dungeons or anything. I’ve just been farming herbs and ore, killing rares I come across, etc. Speaking of rares, I am still not able to kill Eshelon in Townlong Steppes. I start out doing okay and then he casts Rain Dance. I cannot interrupt it for the life of me. As a Balance Druid I have tried Solar Beam (which honestly only seems to interrupt anything about 20% of the time so either it sucks or I’m doing it wrong) which didn’t work and I’ve tried Cyclone which works for 5 or 6 seconds but as soon as it drops he starts his cast again. Makes me rage. I either need some solid advice on how to handle him or just wrangle a friend into going out there with me to stomp him.
Anyway, here’s some of the fun stuff from the past few days.
When you get 4 weeks of vacation time at your job, sometimes you just take a week off to go nowhere. Which is what I did this past week. I only had two plans for my little staycation: reorganize, rearrange, redecorate & deep clean every room in my place and play a lot of WoW. Unfortunately, only one of these two things happened. The house looks awesome and I’m so glad I made the changes I made. Although I will say it cost more than I expected to thin out my clutter and organize things more efficiently. I had to buy storage bins, custom size frames for years worth of art I collected that had never been hung, new rugs that matched the decor, etc. etc. But I am so pleased with the results, it was all totally worth it.
Because I’m me, I didn’t start with one room and work at it until completed. I did little things randomly all over the house at once. I’d work on the bedroom closet for 15 minutes and then stop to use the restroom and decide to work under the bathroom sink for 10 minutes. Then I’d head into the kitchen for a drink and pull everything out of the pantry before deciding I should really get back to that closet and stopping along the way to rearrange the dvds on my new shelf. Yep, this is how I roll. So the entire house was in disarray all at once and everywhere I turned things were unfinished. It was sort of overwhelming so when I wasn’t actively working on the house, I found myself in the recliner watching Netflix. I just didn’t have the energy to sit at the desk and play WoW, as silly as that sounds. So I don’t have any LFR stories for you as I had anticipated.
What I do have are some random pictures of how things look now. Not that you have any idea of how things looked before, but that’s okay; I’m going to show you anyway. The only really huge thing you need to know is that my computer desk and my treadmill desk used to be in my living room which meant the living room chair was stuck in the darkness of my bedroom. Because I work 3rd shift, I had blackout curtains up in my bedroom and it was pitch black 24 hours a day and only used for sleeping. I have now taken down the blackout curtains and moved the computer desk into the bedroom and the living room chair back into the living room. The treadmill has gone into the spare bedroom with the laptop setup on it so I can watch Netflix or type blog posts or whatever while I’m walking. I have actually hung things up on the wall and decluttered the tops of dressers, end tables, etc. to put things away in newly organized closets. Doesn’t that sound exciting? Trust me, it really is.
It’s that time of year where things at work have gotten out of control again, so my greedy ass has been volunteering for overtime to get some extra money. Which means not only is my time in game somewhat limited, my brain power and energy are limited too. This results in me doing even less of the important things I didn’t do before. However, I am off work all next week on vacation and although I won’t be home every day, I am certainly hoping to spend a day or two doing some LFR or something equally exciting. Do not fret, of course I will share any
mundane cool details.
In the meantime, you get to see my latest exciting (not) achievement wherein I ate 91 chocolate cookies. Followed by a fascinating look at the mossy boulder being removed from my DK alt’s farm. Please, try to contain yourselves.
I had never done the Cloud Serpent Sky Race daily before yesterday. How ridiculous is that? I have no real excuse for it, just have never done it. Is now the time I should admit I have never reached exalted with the Order of the Cloud Serpents so I don’t yet have my cute ass cloud serpent mount? Seriously, I’m a total mess. I am close to exalted though. If I would just make myself do all the dailies for 2 or 3 days at the most, I would be done.
Either way, yesterday I decided to head over to the Arboretum and do a couple of the dailies to increase my rep a bit. “The Sky Race” was available so I hopped on my serpent and away I went. I had never done it before so I just took off and flew through as many of the cloud rings as I could, not because I realized it gave me a debuff but because it reminded me of all those years I played Sonic the Hedgehog. My brain could not do anything but concentrate on the rings. Apparently that’s a strategy that works because I was surprised to cross the finish line and see I had finished in first place and had a debuff stack, both of which earned me an achievement. The bonus VP was awesome too.
To make my evening even better, after I wondered away from the Arboretum and herbed my way across the Jade Forest, I happened upon a sparkly and BOOM! Another achievement!
After all the time I’ve spent trying to farm rare mounts and not getting any, it’s nice to know there’s a good chance at pet drops to keep me from raging too much. Yesterday I got this cute little dude from Kara. It made me happy.
I’m alive. I’m still playing WoW way too much. Just been concentrating on getting my mining alt up to Panda land so I can gather my own Ghost Iron Ore for Elfi to use in her transmute. I finally made it to the Jade Forest last night. Too bad I can’t fly or else I’d just stop here. Lol.
I’ve also been working some voluntary overtime and I’ve had a touch of the blues coupled with exhaustion. As a result, things have been quiet here but I’m quite certain I’ll be back to blathering about all my normal nonsense in no time. :)
Since I’m currently a tad bit emo, this seems like a good post to include the picture of my Blood Elf I took when she got smashed up against a giant mushroom in Zangarmarsh and the camera didn’t know what to do. It reminds me of a typical profile picture from an emo teenager.
